Parish-tier councils, or other organisations, can take the lead in creating neighbourhood development plans, community plans and orders for planning in their area. We will help to create the plans, and make decisions at key stages.

Referendum

The Danbury Neighbourhood Plan has been developed by Danbury Parish Council. It covers the whole of the parish, and includes planning policies on the environment, village character, development, and open space.

The draft Danbury Neighbourhood Plan will proceed to a local referendum within the Neighbourhood Area. This follows an independent examination carried out by written representations.

We will hold the referendum on 12 December 2024. You can view our Upcoming Elections page to find out more about the referendum and how you can vote in it. You can view the results of the referendum online.

We will announce the result of the referendum on Friday 13 December 2024. If the majority of people who vote in the referendum support the draft Plan, we will adopt it and it will become part of Chelmsford’s Local Plan.
