Costs for resident permit scheme
Find out how much resident permits and visitor tickets cost in the six areas below.
Resident permits
These cost £33.50 for one year, and can be used by one vehicle when restrictions apply.
The permit must be connected to a specific vehicle, which is owned (or hired by) the resident. You can have up to three permits per property.
If you are over 65, you are entitled to one free resident permit. You need to call us on 01245 606710 to arrange this. You can only have one free resident permit per household.
If you have a Blue Badge, you don't need to buy a resident permit.
Visitor tickets
You can buy a block of 10 tickets for £4, which allows you to park for up to four hours. You can also buy an all-day ticket for £1.50.
Visitor tickets can be used by any vehicle belonging to someone visiting the address that the tickets are registered to.
If you stay longer than the time period activated, you will need to activate further visitor tickets to cover the stay. You can activate visitor tickets in advance.
All-day visitor tickets are only valid up to midnight on the day they are used. They will not carry over into the following day.
You can only buy one all-day visitor ticket per week.
Paper visitor tickets are not available online. To request a paper ticket, you need to call us on 01245 606710, giving us at least three working days’ notice.
The tickets are only valid if you comply with the conditions.

The permit must be connected to a specific vehicle, which is owned (or hired by) the resident. You can have up to two permits per property, but this is reduced by the number of off-street parking spaces you have, or if the area is at capacity.
If you are over 65, you are entitled to one free resident permit. You need to call us on 01245 606710 to arrange this. You can only have one free resident permit per household.
If you have a Blue Badge, you don't need to buy a resident permit.
Visitor tickets
You can buy a block of 10 tickets for £5, which allows you to park for up to five hours.
Visitor tickets can be used by any vehicle belonging to someone visiting the address that the tickets are registered to.
If you stay longer than the time period activated, you will need to activate further visitor tickets to cover the stay. You can activate visitor tickets in advance.
You need to call us on 01245 606710 to request:
- paper visitor tickets (giving us at least three working days’ notice)
- free visitor tickets if you are over 65 or have a Blue Badge
The tickets are only valid if you comply with the conditions.

- £20 for six months for residents

- £15 for six months for motorcycles
- £21 for one year for motorcycles

Temporary resident/motorcycle permits
These can be used when restrictions apply by any vehicle belonging to someone visiting or living at the address that the permit is issued to.
They cost £11 for one month and you can apply for up to four temporary permits within a 12-month period.
You can apply for a temporary resident/motorcycle permit even if you already have a resident/motorcycle permit, a visitor permit or visitor tickets.
Visitor permits
You can buy a visitor permit that is valid for up to four hours at a time, at a cost of:
- £20 for six months
- £26 for one year
If your visitor needs to stay for more than four hours, they will need to use visitor tickets.
You can only buy one visitor permit per property. You can't buy a visitor permit if you already have a resident/motorcycle permit. If you are over 65, you are entitled to one free resident permit.
You can't buy visitor permits online.
