Reframing Our Art

To support the current exhibition, Shifting Perspectives: Exploring Art Together, we were delighted to work on an additional creative project that ran alongside it, 'Exploring Our Art', funded by Museum Development South East.

We worked with local artist Elaine Tribley to develop and deliver a print workshop in care homes, inspired by two works, both called ‘Essex Farm’, by painter and printmaker, Doris Boulton-Maude.

The workshops took place at Windle Court in South Woodham Ferrers, Manor Lodge Carehome in Moulsham and at the ‘Every Day Counts’ group held by Essex Dementia Care at Broomfield Village Hall. We worked with over 40 residents, staff and family members to create the work.

Looking at shapes and patterns within Boulton-Maude's 'Essex Farm' prints, marks were made into plasticine blocks with a variety of tools and natural objects and then printed using colour ink pads creating unique individual responses. The artwork which now makes its own exhibition 'Reframing Our Art', is just a small selection of the beautiful prints created.

Elaine Tribley is a freelance artist working on public art commissions, installations, festival décor, gallery education and resources, illustration and curation.
