Why is dementia so important?
A person is formally diagnosed with dementia approx. every 3 minutes, it is also currently projected that 2 out of 3 of us will be affected by dementia at some point during our lifetime.

It is estimated that 57m people live with dementia in the world. Dementia is one of the most critical issues for health providers, government and society in general.

Led by one of Alzheimer’s Society’s Community Dementia Coordinators, this session is aimed at carers, people living with the early to mid stages of dementia and anyone interested in knowing more about this disease. It will cover some of the key issues faced by people living with dementia, their loved ones and carers. The session will enable attendees to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of dementia and for participants to become a recognised, ‘Dementia Friend’.

We will provide plenty of opportunity for questions.
