Bee Week
We’re creating a hive of activity at the museum this May half term!
In celebration of the bees making a welcome return, we’re having a week of activities that help everyone learn more about our hard-working friends.
Join us from 27 to 31 May for:
- Ask a beekeeper and beekeeper demonstrations (no bees involved!) with Chelmsford Beekeepers Association.
- Bee themed arts and crafts.
- Trails to complete inside and outside the Museum.
- Meet our new colony in our live beehive on the mezzanine.
You will also be given the chance to name the new Queen Bee! Submit your idea on the day, and we will crown our Queen with a new name after the holidays. If you can find her, you will also receive a special ‘I Found The Queen’ museum sticker to wear proudly.
Not only can you enjoy these activities in the Wells Suite on the first floor, the worker-bees running our Gift Shop downstairs will be ready with plenty of items to purchase when you visit including local honey, crafts and toys. Bee sure to drop into The Hive café whilst you’re here for a tasty treat!
We’re buzzing to see everyone! These sessions are drop-in and there is no need to book. If the room is full when you arrive, please check back later in the day. We are unable to reserve places.
