Our Gallery Wall is a dedicated space for Chelmsford artists to exhibit their work in a public gallery, located in a venue that receives over 80,000 visitors a year.

This space has showcased a range of local artists in recent years. The 2D works previously exhibited have ranged greatly from Oleksii Semenenko’s stunning photographic landscapes of Ukraine (currently on display) and Carole Wellby’s chalk and paint portraits of animals, to George Morl’s ‘Electrum Spektrum’ installation tracing the evolution of social and technological networks.

In collaboration with Ignite Chelmsford, each year the artists will be selected by a panel made up of Ignite partners, artists, and museum staff, following an open call.

We welcome applications from all artists over the age of 16, living, working, or studying in Chelmsford and particularly encourage applications from those who are from groups underrepresented within the art sector, including non-graduates; disabled; D/deaf; neurodiverse people; LGBTQ+ individuals, and people from Black, Asian and minority backgrounds. We welcome applicants from a range of educational backgrounds and there is no minimum formal qualification for this programme.

Applications are now closed. Stay tuned to our socials or sign up for our newsletters for updates on future opportunities.
