Family fun day at Chelmsford Market

Family Fun Day, Saturday 10 August (10am to 4pm), Market Square, Chelmsford

Join us for a day of family fun and celebrate Chelmsford Market!

Chelmsford Market’s Family Fun Day will bring a whole host of free family entertainment to Market Square on Saturday 10 August, 10am to 4pm.

Entertainment will include a petting zoo, tea cups ride and soft play area (suitable for children over two years old), and a treasure hunt. Members of Essex Cosplayers will also be in Market Square throughout the day dressed as your favourite characters, so make sure you grab them for a selfie!

We will also be joined by:

Love Your Chelmsford, who will have more on the council’s latest initiative to clean up Market Square
Pops the Penguin from Riverside Leisure Centre, who will also be available for a cuddle and a photo

Chelmsford Market, Chelmsford For You and Chelmsford City Council are hosting this event to remind us all of the impact our historic market has on Chelmsford’s community.

From affordable groceries to unique gifts for loved ones, the independent stall holders at Chelmsford Market bring their offerings to Chelmsford’s visitors and residents week in, week out. Many of the stalls have been at the market for decades, and work to keep the market’s rich history alive.
