Hanningfield Reservoir walk
This circular route follows even paths through the beautiful wooded Hanningfield Reservoir Nature Reserve, offering pretty blankets of bluebells in the spring.
The walk takes around one hour, with a break halfway at the Fishing Lodge for refreshments, before heading back to the visitors centre.
Walk day and time
This walk runs the third Sunday of each month at 1.30pm, on the following dates:
- Sunday 17 November
- Sunday 15 December
Prices
- £2 donation to the Essex Wildlife Trust for use of their facilities.

Essential information
- Make sure you wear comfortable, sensible shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather. Please make sure you bring sun lotion and water in the summer.
- Unfortunately, we cannot allow any dogs other than assistance animals.

How to get there
By bus
Buses don't run to this area on Sundays.
Cycle
Cycle in by road; bike parking is available by the Visitor Centre as bikes aren't permitted in the reserve.
By car
Free parking is available at the Visitor Centre car park.
