Yuletide Stride 2024
This year's Yuletide Stride will take place on Thursday 12 December 2024. Come and join us for a walk to see the twinkly lights of Chelmsford and get in the festive spirit.
Heart and Sole walks
Heart and Sole is a free health walk scheme, run by volunteers with support from our Community Sport and Wellbeing Team. They run regular led walks all across Chelmsford, linked to The Ramblers "Wellbeing Walks" programme.
Come and walk through some of Chelmsford's most beautiful countryside, while you get fit and meet like-minded people. We offer a variety of routes, running on a different days. Most walks run for around 45 minutes at a moderate pace.
You can also volunteer as one of our Heart and Sole walk leaders.
We do sometimes need to cancel walks due to the weather or if we don't have enough walk leaders. If we cancel a walk at short notice, a walk leader will try to attend, to let people know that the conditions are not suitable. However, if there is severe snow and ice, our volunteer walk leaders will not cancel in person, for safety reasons.
We do not run walks on bank holidays, including Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Walks over the Christmas and New Year period may be altered, so we suggest you check before attending.
