With the busy post-Christmas period on the horizon, we've put together a handy Navigating the New Year guide to help you get the most out of your membership in 2025.
Gym at Dovedale
Enjoy a quiet gym experience at Dovedale, with all the necessary equipment you need to train.
Before you use our gym, you will have an induction with one of our gym instructors so that we can help you achieve your fitness goals.
Our gym is open to those aged 16 years and over.
Opening hours
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 5pm to 11pm
- Wednesday and Friday: 5pm to 10pm
- Saturday: 9am to 5pm
- Sunday: 9am to 8pm
Peak times
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 5pm to 11pm
- Wednesday and Friday: 5pm to 10pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 12pm
Off peak times
- Saturday and Sunday, 12pm to close

- Discounted (under 21s): £6.80

Before you use our gym, you will have an induction with one of our gym instructors.
During the induction you will discuss your goals, learn how to use the equipment safely and effectively, and get a personalised exercise programme.
Our instructors are on hand every time you come to use the gym, to answer any questions, or update your programme.

Price
- Monthly members: Free
- ourChelmsford card holders: £13
- Once you have had your induction, you do not need to book in advance to attend the gym.
At Dovedale, you do not need to use a Technogym key. If you want to use the gym at Riverside or CSAC, you will be required to buy a key which allows you to use the equipment with your programme. This costs £13.
- If you want to use a locker, you will need a £1 coin to release the key. You will get the £1 back when you return the key. Lockers are located in the changing rooms.
- There is a male group changing area and a female group changing area.
- Accessible changing is available.
