We will be carrying out maintenance work on our online system for Council Tax, Benefits and Business Rates from 9am to 5:30pm on Saturday 23 November. This means it will be unavailable during some of this period. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Appeal your rateable value
Business Rates depend on your business property’s rateable value. The Valuation Office Agency set rateable values.
The Valuation Office Agency usually re-evaluate properties every five years, and give your property a new rateable value. Their most recent evaluation took effect from 1 April 2023.
You can look at GOV.UK to find out how the Valuation Office Agency calculate rateable values for Business Rates.
If you disagree with your rateable value, you can appeal to the VOA.
You can also view GOV.UK for information on scams relating to appealing your rateable value.
