We will be carrying out maintenance work on our online system for Council Tax, Benefits and Business Rates from 7pm on Friday 21 February to 6am on Monday 24 February. This means it will be unavailable during some of this period. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Tell us if you disagree with our decision
We look into each individual claim for a Discretionary Housing Payment. Our aim is to prevent you from losing your home, or help you move into affordable accommodation.
Your tenancy must be sustainable and affordable moving forward. Discretionary Housing Payments are usually a temporary solution.
Even if you or your partner meet some, or all the criteria, we still might not be able to give you a Discretionary Housing Payment.
What happens after you apply
Once we have looked at your application, we will write to you, to explain our decision about your DHP.
If you disagree with our decision
If you disagree with our decision, you can ask us to look at your application again. Once we have looked at your application for a second time, you can’t appeal or ask us to look at it again.
