We will be carrying out maintenance work on our online system for Council Tax, Benefits and Business Rates from 7pm on Friday 21 February to 6am on Monday 24 February. This means it will be unavailable during some of this period. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Extra help for Discretionary Housing Payments
When considering your DHP application, we may identify that you and your family could benefit from having help, support or advice from another local organisation.
We can make a referral on your behalf via Chelmsford Frontline to a range or organisations. These organisations can get you the right help and support on a range of issues including:
- budgeting
- debt
- cost of living
- benefits
- disability
- mental health
- health and wellbeing
You can find out more information about this on the Essex Frontline website. We need your consent to make a referral and we will send a paper form to you in the post once we receive your DHP application.
When you have completed the consent form you can upload any evidence and your form online.
In some cases, engaging with an organisation to get the right support will be a condition of you getting a DHP. Our extra help for residents page can also give you information about other help.
